All my life / I've lived and worked in the big city,
which, now that I think of it, is kind of a problem, ☞ 그게, 지금 생각해 보니까, 좀 문제에요.
since I always feel uncomfortable / around crowds.
* all my life : 내 평생.
☞ which : 관계대명사. 선행사는 앞 내용 모두임.
☞ it : 지시사. All my life ... big city 모두를 가리킴.
* now that : ～이니까.
* kind of : 좀.
* since : ～이니까, 왜냐하면.
* feel uncomfortable : 불편하게 느끼다.
☞ around crowds : 무리들 주위에서. → 여기저기 사람들[개미들]이 모여 있는 곳에서는.
I mean that I have this fear of enclosed spaces. ☞ 저는 이처럼 폐소공포증이 있다는 거죠.
* enclose : 둘러싸다, 에워싸다; (편지에) 동봉하다.
Everything makes me feel trapped / all the time.
* make 목적어 feel : 사역동사 make는 잘 아시죠?
* feel trapped : 갇혀있는 느낌이다.
* all the time : 항상.
You know, I always tell myself / there's gotta be something better / out there.
* you know : 이 영화 전반적으로 you know는 ‘저 말이죠.... 에..., 어...’와 같은 의미 없는 허사로 나옴.
☞ there's gotta be : =there has got to be. 이 때는 has got to는 must(틀림없이 --일 것이다)의 의미.
* out there : 저 바깥에.
But maybe I.. maybe I think too much.
I think everything must go back to the fact that I had a very anxious childhood.
☞ everything : 현재 내가 보이고 있는 모든 증세들.
☞ go back to : --으로 되돌아 가다. 여기서는 “--에서 근원[원인]을 찾다”의 의미.
☞ the fact that : 동격절을 이끄는 that. "내 어린 시절이 매우 불안했었다는 사실.

And.. and I've always had these abandonment issues / which plague me.

* plague : 괴롭히다.
My father was.. was basically a drone / like I've said.
* drone : 게으름뱅이.
☞ like I've said : 문법적으로는 as가 맞지만, 구어체에서는 like도 씀.
And, you know, the guy flew away / when I was just a larva.
* larva : 애벌레.
And my job... don't get me started on, because it really annoys me.
☞ my job 뭐뭐뭐 라고 말 하려다가 dont' get ...로 말을 바꾸었음.
☞ get me started on은 ‘have 목적어 p.p.’ 구조. “(그 문제라면) 나를 시작시키지 마시오.”
☞ start on의 on은 turn on the heater의 on 과 같음.

* be cut out to be : ~의 소질이 있다, ~이 잘 어울리다.
I feel physically inadequate.
* inadequate : 부적당한.

* handling dirt : 흙을 취급하는 일.
* rewarding : 가치 있는, 보람 있는.
It's this whole gung-ho, superorganism thing that ... you know ... I can't get.
* gung-ho : [口] 충성을 다하는. [원래는 미 해병대가 경례할 때 붙이는 구령임]
* superorganism : 초유기체. [쉽게 말해 전체를 위해 개체를 희생시키는 존재를 말함. 아래 상세 설명]
☞ 이 문장의 기본 구조는 It is ... that 강조구문.
☞ 맨 끝의 get은 ‘이해하다’의 뜻.
I try, but I don't get it.
I mean, what is it?
I'm supposed to do everything / for the colony.
And.. and what about my needs? What about me?
* what about : ~은 어떻게 되는 건가?
☞ 그럼 내가 필요로 하는 건 어떻게 되는 건가요? 그럼 난 뭐냔 말예요?
I've gotta believe / there's someplace / out there / that's better than this.
☞ I've gotta : =I've got to, I have to.
☞ that's better의 that은 someplace를 선행사로 하는 관계대명사.
Otherwise, I would just curl up in a larval position and weep.
* otherwise : 그렇지 않으면.
* curl up : 몸을 웅크리다.
* in a larval position : 애벌레였던 때의 자세로
* weep : 울다.
